Volkswagen Expands Commercial EV Line-Up with Electric Transporter Shuttle and Kombi Vans

Volkswagen has recently introduced electric variants of its popular Transporter Shuttle and Transporter Kombi vans, further expanding its commercial electric vehicle offerings. The new eight-seat Shuttle and scalable Kombi models are equipped with a 65kWh lithium-ion battery, providing ranges of 194 and 196 miles respectively. Power is delivered to the front wheels through a single 134bhp electric motor.

Customers have the option to choose between a short or long wheelbase for both vans, with the long wheelbase allowing for an additional seat in the Shuttle and accommodating up to nine passengers or six passengers in the Kombi. The Kombi also boasts a payload capacity of 896kg.

The electric vans come equipped with various features including heated front seats, a heat pump, all-season tires, and single-zone climate control. The Pro versions of the vehicles offer additional luxuries such as a leatherette-wrapped, heated steering wheel. Pricing for the Kombi starts at £53,404 while the Shuttle starts at £56,129.

In comparison, the Ford E-Transit Custom Multicab and E-Transit Custom Kombi, which offer ranges of around 200 miles, are priced starting at £48,080 and £45,635 respectively. Volkswagen’s new electric offerings are now available for purchase, joining the e-Transporter Panel Van in the brand’s commercial EV lineup.

With these new additions, Volkswagen continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable transportation solutions while providing customers with efficient and eco-friendly commercial vehicle options. The electric Transporter Shuttle and Kombi vans offer both practicality and performance, catering to the needs of businesses and individuals looking to make the switch to electric mobility.
