The Volvo EX30 Cross Country: A New Off-Road Adventure
The Volvo EX30 has taken a bold step into the world of off-roading with the introduction of the EX30 Cross Country. This new model not only marks Volvo’s first foray into the electric vehicle market but also becomes the first SUV to proudly wear Volvo’s Cross Country badge.
Priced at £47,060, the EX30 Cross Country is positioned slightly higher than its Twin Motor Performance Ultra counterpart, with a £2000 premium. Built on the foundation of the standard EX30, this rugged variant has been raised by 19mm to conquer rough terrains with ease. It boasts chunky front and rear skidplates, optional mudflaps, and is equipped with 720mm all-terrain tires.
One of the standout features of the EX30 Cross Country is its five-link rear suspension, which has been specifically tuned for off-road adventures. Whether navigating muddy tracks, snowy landscapes, or even highways, this SUV promises a smooth and comfortable ride.
While the EX30 Cross Country is not designed for extreme off-roading, Volvo describes it as the perfect companion for “weekend explorers.” The focus is on embracing nature rather than overpowering it, making it an ideal choice for outdoor enthusiasts.
Visually, the EX30 Cross Country exudes a rugged charm with a black front grille, wheel arches, and bootlid, along with more pronounced front and rear bumpers. For added customization, buyers can opt for 19-inch alloy wheels, although these are only compatible with road tires. Additional accessories include a roof-mounted kayak holder, a tent, and a stowable towbar.
Inside, the EX30 Cross Country retains the same interior as its standard counterpart, offering comfort and practicality for all occupants. Initially available only in four-wheel-drive configuration, Volvo hints at the possibility of a single-motor variant adopting the Cross Country moniker in the future.
