Space and PracticalityInterior ComfortTechnology and Infotainment

When it comes to buying a car, space is a top priority for many consumers. The V90 offers ample boot space, with 551 litres available with all five seats in place. This is above average for its class, outperforming the E300e Estate but falling slightly short compared to the 530e or 550e Touring. Folding down the seats increases the space to 904 litres, although not as competitive as some rivals.

Practical touches in the boot include a divider to prevent items from rolling around, a portable dog net, and multiple 12V sockets. While there isn’t as much under-floor storage due to the rear-mounted electric motor, the overall space is still functional and convenient.

Interior Comfort

The V90 excels in providing a comfortable and spacious interior. The rear seats offer ample legroom and headroom, akin to a limousine-like experience. Taller passengers will find long journeys comfortable, with good under-thigh support. The front seats, upholstered in high-quality leather, are electrically adjustable with various configurations to ensure a comfortable ride.

The cabin design reflects Volvo’s minimalist and premium approach, with a selection of high-quality materials and finishes. The fit and finish of the interior uphold the V90’s reputation as a premium offering in the market.

Technology and Infotainment

While the V90 excels in comfort and design, the 9.0-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system falls short in usability. Many secondary functions, including climate control and heated seat controls, are operated through the screen. The small icons and lack of physical buttons make it challenging to use while driving, requiring more attention away from the road.

Issues with Bluetooth connectivity and unnecessary pop-ups on the infotainment screen detract from the overall user experience. The lack of physical knobs and buttons for essential functions adds to the frustration of using the system.

Overall, the Volvo V90 offers a comfortable and spacious interior with premium materials and finishes. While the infotainment system may have its shortcomings, the overall driving experience and practicality make it a competitive option in the luxury car market.
