Nio, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker, is gearing up to start production at its third factory in Hefei, Anhui province, in September. This new facility, known as the F3 factory, will support the upcoming delivery of the Onvo L90, a flagship SUV from the company’s Onvo sub-brand.
According to William Li, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Nio, the Onvo L90 will be priced competitively, starting at under RMB 300,000 ($41,870). This pricing strategy is aimed at making the vehicle more accessible to a wider range of customers.
The Onvo L90 made its debut at the 2025 Shanghai auto show, showcasing its spacious interior and advanced features. The SUV is set to compete with other large SUV models in the market, such as the Li Auto Li L9.
The Onvo L90 will be the first model launched under the leadership of Shen Fei, who took over as Onvo’s president in April. Shen has recently shared images of the completed L90 on Weibo, hinting that deliveries will begin soon after the start of production at Nio’s third factory.
With the Onvo L90 set to begin pre-sales on July 10 and display vehicles available in all stores, Nio is poised to expand its lineup and appeal to a broader audience. The company’s focus on competitive pricing and innovative design is expected to drive sales and solidify its position in the EV market.
Overall, Nio’s upcoming production at the F3 factory and the launch of the Onvo L90 represent significant milestones for the company as it continues to grow and innovate in the electric vehicle industry.
