Xiaomi EV says its deliveries exceeded 30,000 units again in Aug

Xiaomi EV, the electric vehicle (EV) unit of Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY), has once again surpassed the 30,000 units delivery mark in August 2025, marking the second consecutive month of achieving this milestone. While specific figures were not disclosed, this achievement highlights the continued success and growth of Xiaomi EV in the competitive EV market.

In July, Xiaomi EV also exceeded 30,000 units in deliveries, with data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showing a 19.61 percent increase from June’s numbers. This consistent performance reflects the strong demand for Xiaomi EV’s vehicles in the market.

One of Xiaomi EV’s popular models is the SU7 electric sedan, which was launched as a competitor to Tesla’s Model 3. Following the success of the SU7, Xiaomi introduced the SU7 Ultra, a performance-enhanced version of the sedan. In June, Xiaomi expanded its EV lineup with the launch of the YU7, its first electric SUV aimed to rival Tesla’s Model Y.

The YU7 received overwhelming demand, with 200,000 firm orders secured within the first three minutes of sales and over 240,000 orders locked in within 18 hours. This surge in orders has led to unprecedented factory capacity constraints for Xiaomi EV, resulting in delivery wait times of up to 56 weeks for consumers ordering the YU7.

To address the increasing demand, Xiaomi EV has initiated large-scale recruitment for its phase two factory to ramp up production and meet the growing order backlog. The company is also preparing for entry into the European EV market in 2027, showcasing its ambitions for global expansion.

In the second quarter of 2025, Xiaomi delivered a record 81,302 cars, further solidifying its position in the EV industry. However, the company is currently facing challenges in meeting delivery demands in China due to the overwhelming response to its electric vehicles.

Overall, Xiaomi EV’s consistent delivery performance and expansion plans demonstrate its commitment to innovation and growth in the EV market. With a strong lineup of electric vehicles and a growing customer base, Xiaomi EV is poised to make a significant impact in the global EV industry.
