The project, spanning over 15,000 square meters, is set to open its doors to the public in October 2025. This flagship center will be the largest of its kind in Shanghai, positioning Xiaomi EV in direct competition with industry giants like Tesla and Nio in the EV-friendly city.
The announcement of Xiaomi EV’s property lease with a subsidiary of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Group for the flagship showroom in the Waigaoqiao Xin Park campus marks a significant step in the company’s expansion. The showroom will offer a comprehensive range of services including vehicle displays, test rides, test drives, deliveries, and after-sales repairs. Situated next to the Porsche China training center and the Waigaoqiao Tesla Center, Xiaomi EV’s flagship showroom is strategically located to attract a wide range of customers.
Shanghai Waigaoqiao Automotive Industrial Park, where Xiaomi EV’s flagship showroom will be located, is already home to industry-leading automotive centers such as Audi, Tesla, BMW, and Lincoln. Xiaomi EV’s presence in this prestigious automotive hub solidifies its position as a key player in the Chinese EV market.
Shanghai’s reputation as an EV-friendly city, offering incentives such as free green license plates for BEV buyers, further enhances Xiaomi EV’s prospects in the region. With a delivery center in Songjiang and around 20 sales outlets already established in Shanghai, Xiaomi EV is well on its way to capturing a significant market share.
Xiaomi EV made headlines with the launch of its first electric sedan, the SU7, in March 2024. The company continued its success with the introduction of the SU7 Ultra in February 2025, boasting an impressive 1,548 Ps of maximum horsepower. Xiaomi EV’s commitment to innovation and performance is evident in its consistent monthly deliveries, with over 28,000 units delivered in April 2025.
