BYD’s premium brand Denza is set to unveil its first concept supercar at the upcoming Shanghai auto show, according to Zhao Changjiang, the brand’s general manager of sales. The car is said to feature ultimate pure styling and world-leading technologies, making it a standout in the supercar market.
Rumors about Denza’s supercar have been circulating after spy shots of a camouflage-wrapped sports car surfaced online. It was reported that the car was originally a production version of Fang Cheng Bao’s Super 9 concept before being rebranded under the Denza name. Fang Cheng Bao is a personalized sub-brand of BYD.
The sports car is expected to come in both hardtop and convertible versions, with a price tag exceeding RMB 300,000 ($41,090). Performance-wise, it is said to rival the Porsche 911, making it an exciting addition to Denza’s lineup.
Denza’s current models include the N7 SUV, N9 SUV, Z9 sedan, Z9GT hatchback, and D9 MPV. The N9 SUV, which recently hit the market with a starting price of RMB 389,800, is the brand’s flagship model. Despite being a newcomer in the market, Denza has seen impressive sales figures, with 12,620 vehicles sold in March alone, marking a 22.77 percent year-on-year increase.
In the first quarter of this year, Denza sold a total of 32,853 vehicles, representing a 37.20 percent growth compared to the same period last year. This indicates a strong demand for Denza’s lineup of vehicles and sets a positive outlook for the brand’s future in the competitive automotive market.
With the unveiling of its concept supercar at the Shanghai auto show, Denza is poised to make a significant impact in the supercar segment and further solidify its position as a key player in the luxury automotive industry. Stay tuned for more updates on Denza’s exciting new addition to its lineup.
