Xiaomi EV Unveils More Images of YU7 SUV, Set to Launch in June or July 2025
Xiaomi EV, the electric vehicle arm of tech giant Xiaomi, recently shared additional images of its upcoming YU7 SUV model. The YU7 is the second electric vehicle model from Xiaomi and is expected to hit the market in June or July 2025.
The new images showcase the exterior design of the YU7, highlighting key details such as the head and tail design. The overall styling of the YU7 is described as a standard SUV with a sportier look compared to traditional SUV models. The design language of the YU7 follows in the footsteps of Xiaomi’s first electric vehicle, the SU7 sedan.
The YU7 measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. It weighs 2,405 kilograms and boasts a top speed of 253 kilometers per hour. The SUV is powered by Li-ion ternary batteries from CATL and features dual electric motors with peak power outputs of 220 kW for the front motor and 288 kW for the rear motor.
Xiaomi founder and CEO, Lei Jun, took to social media to explain the early filing for the YU7, stating that the decision was made to facilitate comprehensive testing and ensure product quality. The company is currently conducting large-scale road tests of the YU7 in preparation for its official launch next year.
While pricing details for the YU7 have not been revealed, Xiaomi’s first electric vehicle, the SU7, is available in three versions with starting prices ranging from RMB 215,900 to RMB 299,900.
The YU7 is expected to offer consumers a compelling option in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market, combining Xiaomi’s technological expertise with a stylish and performance-oriented SUV design.
