Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun Demonstrates Battery Safety by Dropping Watermelon from 6th Floor

Xiaomi, a company known for producing high-performance electric cars, is now making a statement about the safety of their vehicles. In a bold move, CEO Lei Jun decided to demonstrate the safety of Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra EV batteries by dropping a watermelon wrapped in the company’s “bulletproof” battery armor from a six-storey building. This dramatic test was captured in a video uploaded to Jun’s personal social media accounts, showcasing the watermelon coated with the grey protective coating being dropped from the top of the building.

Designed to withstand punctures, tears, and abrasions, Xiaomi claims that the “bulletproof” battery coating gives their SU7 Ultra EV batteries superior safety performance in crash tests compared to other electric vehicles on the market. The company recently started selling the SU7 Ultra EV, priced just under $75,000, as part of its expansion into China’s luxury car segment. The car has already received over 10,000 orders within its first two hours on the market, with a significant portion of buyers being women between the ages of 30 and 35.

Lei Jun, who has a massive online following with 44 million followers and over 210 million likes on his videos, is believed to have played a significant role in the popularity of Xiaomi’s electric vehicles. Xiaomi is best known for its smartphone business, which shipped 168.5 million units last year, making it the third largest phone brand globally with over 10% market share.

The demonstration of dropping a watermelon from a building may seem unconventional, but it effectively showcases Xiaomi’s commitment to safety and innovation in the electric vehicle industry. With each new release, Xiaomi is proving to be a strong competitor in the market, challenging established brands like Ford and Tesla. The company’s focus on battery safety and performance is setting a new standard for the industry.

In conclusion, Xiaomi’s CEO’s bold demonstration of dropping a watermelon from a six-storey building is a powerful statement about the safety and durability of their electric vehicle batteries. As Xiaomi continues to push boundaries and expand its presence in the luxury car market, it’s clear that innovation and safety are at the forefront of their mission.
