Xiaomi Celebrates Delivery Milestone with 130,000 Units of SU7 Sedan Sold in China

Xiaomi has achieved a significant milestone in the Chinese automotive market with the delivery of 130,000 units of its popular SU7 sedan. It took the company nine months to reach this impressive sales figure, exceeding its full-year adjusted goal. The delivery of over 30,000 units of the SU7 in November further solidified Xiaomi’s position in the electric vehicle segment.

The Xiaomi SU7, a middle-to-high electric sedan, was introduced in China on March 28 with a price range of 215,900 – 229,900 yuan (29,600 – 31,500 USD). Despite facing some initial production challenges, including malfunctions at the start, the SU7 quickly gained traction in the market. The vehicle garnered attention by receiving 50,000 orders in just 27 minutes after its launch. Xiaomi responded to the strong demand by increasing production capacity multiple times in China, leading to the successful delivery of 130,000 units by December 28.

Xiaomi’s delivery record for the SU7 reflects its rapid growth in the automotive sector. The company achieved its adjusted goal of 100,000 cars in 2024 within 275 days, thanks to a production ramp-up to 20,000 units per month in June. The sales momentum continued with 10,000 cars delivered in the first full month, followed by an additional 90,000 units in the next 198 days. The final push to reach 130,000 units took just 45 days, highlighting Xiaomi’s ability to meet customer demand effectively.

Looking ahead, Xiaomi plans to launch a second-phase car plant next year to further increase production volume and enhance sales. The company also aims to introduce two new models in 2025, including the three-motor SU7 Ultra sedan and the Xiaomi YU7 crossover, to expand its product lineup and boost domestic sales.

The Xiaomi SU7 is a sporty sedan with impressive dimensions and performance capabilities. With a wheelbase of 3000 mm and a range of 700 – 830 km, the SU7 offers both RWD and 4WD options powered by advanced battery technology. The top-trim model delivers 495 kW (663 hp), making it a formidable competitor in the electric vehicle market.

In conclusion, Xiaomi’s achievement of delivering 130,000 units of the SU7 sedan in China underscores the company’s success in the automotive industry. With plans for expansion and new model launches on the horizon, Xiaomi is poised to continue its growth and innovation in the electric vehicle market.
