Xpeng Aeroht, the flying car subsidiary of Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV), made a groundbreaking announcement at a major airshow, solidifying its position as a key player in the global flying car industry. The company revealed that it has received an unprecedented number of pre-orders for its modular flying car, the Land Aircraft Carrier, at the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, also known as Airshow China.

This momentous occasion marks the largest order in the history of the flying car space, with a total of 2008 units pre-ordered by 12 customers from various sectors such as transportation, travel, real estate, and technology. The airshow, currently taking place in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, is a significant platform for Xpeng Aeroht to showcase its innovative technology and attract potential customers.

During the first day of the event, Xpeng Aeroht conducted the world’s first public flight of its modular flying car, captivating audiences and generating excitement for the future of personal air transportation. The company’s commitment to developing cutting-edge eVTOL (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) flying cars and modular flying cars was highlighted at its Tech Day event in October 2023.

Founded in 2013, Xpeng Aeroht is a technology division primarily owned by Xpeng and its chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng. The company’s modular flying car consists of a flying car and a parent vehicle that can recharge the flying car, offering a unique and versatile solution for personal air travel.

Xpeng Aeroht has set ambitious goals for the production and delivery of its modular flying car, with pre-sales expected to begin by the end of 2024 and mass production scheduled for 2026. The anticipated price for the modular flying car is no more than 2 million yuan ($277,390), making it a competitive option in the emerging market for flying vehicles.

The company’s collaboration with key partners and the establishment of a state-of-the-art flying car manufacturing base in Guangzhou demonstrate its commitment to advancing the future of personal air transportation.

As Xpeng Aeroht continues to innovate and expand its presence in the flying car industry, the company is poised to revolutionize the way people travel and experience the world around them. With a focus on technology, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, Xpeng Aeroht is paving the way for a new era of personal air mobility.
