Xpeng Motors Announces Strategic Partnership with IML to Enter UK Market

In a significant move to expand its global reach, Xpeng Motors has announced a strategic partnership with IML (International Motors Ltd.) to enter the UK market. The collaboration will see the launch of the Xpeng G6, a cutting-edge electric vehicle, in the UK early next year. This partnership marks a new chapter for Xpeng Motors as it taps into the growing electric vehicle market in Europe.

With a 50-year history in the automotive industry, IML has established itself as a leading European dealership group, operating across the UK, Ireland, and Nordic regions. The company boasts a comprehensive operation, from vehicle importation to after-sales services, and has forged strong partnerships with various automotive manufacturers. Xpeng Motors, known for its innovative electric vehicles, has been expanding its European footprint since late 2020, starting with Norway. To date, Xpeng’s intelligent vehicles have been introduced to Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal.

As part of its 10th-anniversary celebration in August, Xpeng Motors unveiled an ambitious plan to transform into a global leader in AI-powered vehicles. The company has set a target of operating in over 60 markets worldwide by 2025, with half of its total sales expected to originate from international markets.
