Xpeng’s latest electric sedan, the P7+, is off to a strong start with pre-orders surpassing 30,000 units in just 1 hour and 48 minutes after pre-sales began. This impressive reception underscores the growing popularity and demand for electric vehicles in the market.

The Chinese electric vehicle maker announced the milestone on Weibo, thanking all supporters who believe in Xpeng’s technology and its ability to make a positive impact on the world. The P7+ was introduced to European consumers in Paris, France, at an event that showcased its features and capabilities.

With a starting price of RMB 209,800 ($29,600) in China, the P7+ is positioned competitively in the market, offering a discount of RMB 3,000 to customers who reserve the model with a refundable RMB 99 deposit. This pricing strategy aims to attract more buyers and drive sales for the new electric sedan.

Compared to Tesla’s Model 3, the P7+ is priced 9.53% lower, making it an attractive option for consumers looking for a high-quality electric vehicle at a more affordable price point. Xpeng’s chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng, emphasized that the P7+ is targeted at models in the RMB 300,000 class, indicating its premium features and performance.

Following the successful launch of the Mona M03 with over 30,000 non-refundable orders in the first 48 hours, Xpeng is confident in the market demand for its new models. The company aims to achieve significant cost reductions and technology advancements with each new release, setting ambitious targets for future models.

The P7+ boasts a mid-to-large size with dimensions of 5,056 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width, and 1,512 mm in height, along with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. These specifications make it larger than the Xpeng P7i sedan, offering a spacious and comfortable driving experience for passengers.

As Xpeng continues to innovate and expand its electric vehicle lineup, the P7+ represents a significant milestone in the company’s journey towards sustainable mobility. With strong pre-order numbers and competitive pricing, the P7+ is poised to make a mark in the electric vehicle market and solidify Xpeng’s position as a key player in the industry.
