Zeekr, a prominent Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker, is making waves at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show 2025 (CES 2025) with its cutting-edge EV technologies. This marks the third consecutive year that Zeekr has participated in this prestigious tech event.
At CES 2025, Zeekr unveiled a domain controller built on Nvidia’s Drive AGX Thor, making it the first OEM product to integrate this next-generation system-on-chip (SoC) from the renowned US chip giant. This domain controller, powered by Nvidia’s accelerated compute, is set to be featured in a new model scheduled for launch in 2025. This model will boast advanced capabilities to handle various smart driving scenarios and parking functions seamlessly.
CEO Andy An revealed that Zeekr has plans to release three new models this year under internal codenames EX, DX, and CC. The EX series will kick off with a large SUV equipped with Zeekr’s in-house developed Nvidia Drive Thor-based intelligent driving domain controller. This move aligns with Nvidia’s roadmap for autonomous driving, as the Drive Thor SoC was unveiled as a successor to Drive Orin with a target for automakers’ 2025 models.
Zeekr’s initial models were powered by intelligent driving solutions from Mobileye, with the Zeekr 007 being the first model to feature the company’s in-house developed driver assistance system. Despite this, Zeekr plans to continue developing and enhancing its smart driving systems based on both Mobileye’s solution and Nvidia’s Drive Orin chip.
In addition to showcasing its technological advancements at CES 2025, Zeekr also announced its partnership with Qualcomm to utilize the next-generation Snapdragon cockpit platform in upcoming vehicles. This collaboration will enable advanced features such as smart navigation, enhanced voice interaction, innovative eye control systems, immersive entertainment, personalized user interfaces, and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Furthermore, Zeekr revealed its global fast charging network strategy, which involves deploying thousands of Zeekr-branded charging piles in key international markets, starting with Thailand and Australia. This initiative aims to support the growing demand for electric vehicles and enhance the overall charging infrastructure.
Moreover, Zeekr is set to make history by becoming the first Chinese car brand to enter the US market with its mass-produced purpose-built vehicle for autonomous mobility, the Zeekr RT. The company will deliver these vehicles to Waymo for further testing this year in preparation for a future public robotaxi launch.
As Zeekr continues to push the boundaries of innovation in the EV industry, its presence at CES 2025 underscores its commitment to driving the future of mobility with cutting-edge technologies and strategic partnerships.
