2025 Kia EV9 Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

The 2025 Kia EV9 is a three-row luxury SUV that is powered by electricity rather than gasoline. It is similar in size and shape to the automaker’s Telluride model, but with an electric motor. While there is no direct comparison to the EV9, it can be compared to the Tesla Model X and Rivian R1s.

In terms of performance, the EV9 offers three powertrain options. The base Standard Range model comes with a single electric motor at the rear producing 215 hp and a range estimate of 230 miles. The Long Range version adds 74 miles of range and a more powerful electric motor for better acceleration. The top trim levels feature all-wheel drive and a second motor for a zippier response, with the GT-Line version capable of reaching 60 mph in about 5 seconds. Despite its weight of around 6,000 pounds, the EV9 offers a smooth and quiet ride, though it leans in corners and drives more like a traditional SUV than a sporty vehicle.

Inside, the EV9 boasts a practical and modern design with seating for six or seven passengers. The front seats are spacious and comfortable, while the second row features luxurious lounge seats in the GT-Line trim. The third row can accommodate adults for shorter journeys, and there is ample cargo space even with the third-row seats in use. The interior materials are innovative and made from recycled materials, adding personality to the cabin.

Safety is a priority for the EV9, with top marks in IIHS crash testing and a host of advanced driver-assistance features. These include front and rear automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, active lane control, and a hands-off, eyes-on highway assistance system.

The starting price for the 2025 Kia EV9 is $56,225, including a destination charge. Standard features include dual 12.3-inch displays, synthetic leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The Long Range and dual-motor versions are available for an additional cost, offering more range and performance options.

Overall, the 2025 Kia EV9 is a practical and appealing luxury SUV with a lot of features. While it can get expensive, especially in higher trim levels, it offers a comfortable and spacious interior, impressive performance, and advanced safety technology. It is manufactured in West Point, Georgia, making it a domestic option for American consumers.
