Hyundai has recently introduced new features to make charging your electric vehicle (EV) easier than ever. Charging an EV should be as simple as plugging in your phone, and Hyundai is working to make that a reality for their customers.
One of the new features Hyundai has rolled out is the ability for EV owners to access Tesla Superchargers with a free NACS adapter. This offer applies to all EV owners who purchased or leased their vehicle before January 31, 2025, including models like the IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and the original IONIQ hatch.
In addition to the free adapter, Hyundai has launched plug-and-charge and in-app charging features to streamline the charging process. These features are designed to make it easier to find and pay for charging, eliminating the need for third-party apps or physical credit cards for payments.
The MyHyundai with BlueLink app now allows users to find charging stations, navigate to them using EV trip planning, and monitor the charging session all within the app. This functionality is similar to what Tesla vehicles offer, where users can find a charger on the app and send it to the vehicle’s infotainment screen.
These features are compatible with several charging networks, including Tesla Superchargers, IONNA, ChargePoint, and EVgo. Plug and charge is available across all networks, except for EVgo.
The new features were initially launched for the 2025 IONIQ 5 and the 2026 IONIQ 9, Hyundai’s first three-row electric SUV. However, Hyundai has stated that these upgrades will be included in all future IONIQ and EV models.
Earlier this month, Hyundai announced that the 2026 IONIQ 9 prices start at just over $60,000, with a driving range of up to 335 miles. The 2025 IONIQ 5 starts at $42,600 and includes a native NACS charging port.
With leases starting as low as $209 per month, the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 presents itself as one of the best deals on the market. Customers can find deals on the 2025 IONIQ 5 in their area today.
Overall, these new features from Hyundai aim to make the charging experience for EV owners as convenient and seamless as possible, ultimately encouraging more people to make the switch to electric vehicles.
