Brembo, a leading provider of braking systems, has recently integrated VI-grade’s VI-CarRealTime vehicle simulation technology into its software development process. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing the virtual development and testing of control software for braking systems, ultimately improving efficiency in the early stages of product development.

The implementation of VI-CarRealTime took place at Brembo’s Coding Hub in Sunnyvale, California. This state-of-the-art real-time vehicle simulation platform provided by VI-grade plays a crucial role in Brembo’s efforts to optimize the virtual testing of new control software functions.

VI-CarRealTime offers a high-fidelity simulation environment that allows Brembo’s engineers to conduct virtual tests on control logics before moving on to comprehensive on-vehicle testing. By utilizing this technology, Brembo aims to reduce the time spent on setting up new vehicle dynamics simulations and shorten the development cycles, thereby expediting the controls development process.

Alessio Lombardi, Vice President of Sales for VI-grade in EMEA and North America, highlighted the benefits of VI-CarRealTime, stating that it offers a single, customizable vehicle model for concept through sign-off, enabling rapid model configuration and seamless integration with third-party tools. This tool is designed to speed up development cycles and improve collaboration across teams, making it a perfect fit for the innovative environment of the Brembo Coding Hub.

Alessandro Bertagna, the coordinator of Brembo Coding Hub, expressed enthusiasm about the adoption of VI-CarRealTime, stating that it enables the development and validation of control logics in a virtual environment, significantly reducing time-to-test and supporting the goal of creating smarter, more responsive braking systems. The team at Brembo looks forward to leveraging the full capabilities of VI-CarRealTime to enhance their control development workflow.
