Nissan Micra: A Closer Look at the Interior

When you step inside the Nissan Micra, it’s hard to ignore the fact that it shares its platform with the Nissan 5. The interior layout points are quite similar, but Nissan has managed to use different trims effectively to give the Micra its own unique feel and aesthetic.

Despite the close relationship with the Nissan 5, the interior of the Micra exudes a real vibrancy and richness. You can tell that Nissan has invested in creating a modern and stylish interior that stands out in the supermini segment. Compared to older superminis, the Micra feels fresh and luxurious inside.

Nissan offers buyers three different interior themes to choose from. The base Comfort grade features a different and smaller screen arrangement, while the higher trims of Audacious and Chill come with a pair of 10.3-inch screens that run the integrated Google infotainment software, which is known for its user-friendly interface.

Just like with the Nissan 5, opting for a higher trim level in the Micra is recommended as you get more features and a more upscale feel. The Chill interior of the Micra boasts light trim and an airy feel, while the Audacious interior has a distinct Japanese look and feel, with dashboard trim lines inspired by a raked zen garden.

During our short time with the Micra, we found the overall look and feel to be impressive. While further usability analysis is needed, the technology in the Micra is expected to be fast and easy to use, based on our experience with the Nissan 5.

In terms of roominess, the Micra is similar to the Nissan 5 – cramped in the back but with a larger boot capacity of 366 litres. However, the high load lip in the boot may limit usability, although there is storage space for the charging cable under the boot floor.

Overall, the Nissan Micra’s interior offers a blend of style, technology, and practicality that sets it apart in the supermini segment. Whether you opt for the Chill or Audacious trim, you can expect a modern and comfortable interior that reflects Nissan’s commitment to quality and innovation.
