Skoda Launches Enyaq Cargo Variant with Focus on Fleet Buyers

Skoda has introduced a new van variant of its popular Enyaq electric SUV, catering to the needs of fleet buyers looking for a spacious cargo area. The conversion, developed in collaboration with specialist Strongs Plastic Products, features a flat plastic load bay equipped with tethers and removable dividers to secure loose items. Additionally, a plastic bulkhead with a small window into the cockpit has been included, along with tinted black rear windows to conceal stored items from view.

The Enyaq Cargo conversion is priced at £1815 plus VAT and is specifically targeted towards fleet customers. Based on the Enyaq 85 model, which starts at £44,310 including VAT and registration charges, the van variant is powered by a single rear-mounted 282bhp motor and a 77kWh battery pack, offering an impressive range of 359 miles. With a rapid charging capability of up to 135kW, the Enyaq Cargo can achieve a 10-80% refill in just 28 minutes.

For those seeking enhanced performance and all-wheel drive capability, Skoda also offers the Enyaq 85X variant, which features an additional motor at the front. While maintaining the same power output of 282bhp, the range is slightly reduced to 332 miles. To compensate for this, the 85X model boasts a peak charge rate of 175kW.

Despite its appeal to fleet buyers, Skoda has confirmed that the Enyaq Cargo does not qualify for the government’s plug-in van grant, which provides discounts of up to £2500 for small electric vans. The development of the Enyaq Cargo was initiated through a partnership with the National Grid, with an initial order of 70 units. National Grid Energy Distribution currently operates over 300 electric vans and 600 electric company cars, showcasing a commitment to sustainable transportation.

Exclusively available to fleet buyers through Skoda’s network of area fleet managers, the Enyaq Cargo offers a practical solution for businesses looking to transition to electric vehicles. With its spacious cargo area, efficient electric motor, and rapid charging capabilities, the Enyaq Cargo is poised to make a significant impact in the commercial vehicle segment.
