Yangwang, the ultra-luxury sub-brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), has recently launched pre-sales for its latest model, the U8L luxury SUV. Priced at RMB 1.3 million ($180,700), the U8L is positioned as a premium offering in the Chinese automotive market, surpassing the starting price of its predecessor, the U8, which was priced at RMB 1.098 million.

The U8L is an extended version of the U8, boasting larger dimensions and enhanced features. Measuring 5,400 mm in length, 2,049 mm in width, and 1,921 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm, the U8L offers a spacious and luxurious interior for passengers. The standout feature of the U8L is its gold logo made from 24K pure gold, symbolizing its premium status in the market.

Powered by BYD’s e4 technology, the U8L is equipped with four electric motors that deliver over 1,000 horsepower, ensuring a powerful and efficient driving experience. The vehicle also features BYD’s advanced DiSus-P body control system, enhancing comfort and performance on the road.

The U8L is part of Yangwang’s lineup of luxury vehicles, which includes the U8, U9 electric supercar, and U7 sedan. With a focus on high-end design and cutting-edge technology, Yangwang aims to capture a significant share of the luxury vehicle market in China.

The U8L made its debut at the Shanghai auto show, generating significant interest among automotive enthusiasts. Customers can reserve the U8L by paying RMB 20,000 and receive a RMB 30,000 optional feature fund, making it an attractive proposition for luxury SUV buyers.

In June, Yangwang sold 205 vehicles, with the U8, U9, and U7 models contributing to the brand’s sales performance. As Yangwang continues to expand its product portfolio and enhance its presence in the luxury vehicle segment, the U8L represents a significant milestone in the brand’s journey towards establishing itself as a leading player in the Chinese automotive industry.
