Luxeed has officially kicked off pre-sales for the updated S7 pure electric sedan and R7 coupe SUV, marking the entry of the Huawei-backed brand into its “Phase 2.0.” The new models are the first to be launched by Luxeed in this phase and will showcase more Huawei technologies.

The updated Luxeed S7 is priced at RMB 258,000 ($35,920), while the R7 comes with a price tag of RMB 268,000. Interested buyers in China can reserve either model by paying RMB 2,000 upfront and receive a RMB 5,000 discount on the final purchase price.

The current Luxeed S7 lineup includes three variants – Pro, Max, and Ultra – with starting prices of RMB 229,800, RMB 269,800, and RMB 319,800 respectively. On the other hand, the Luxeed R7 is offered in battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions, with prices starting from RMB 249,800 to RMB 339,800.

Both the updated S7 and R7 models boast enhanced driver assistance systems and are set to be officially launched in September. They will be equipped with Huawei’s ADS 4 driver assistance system, which is renowned for its advanced capabilities in China. The vehicles will come standard with a 192-channel LiDAR, rear-facing high-precision solid-state LiDAR, and five 4D millimeter-wave radars.

Luxeed Product Director Hai Lantian revealed on Weibo that the all-new S7 and R7 mark the brand’s foray into its 2.0 phase and will incorporate Huawei’s full-stack technologies. This announcement follows the recent agreement between Huawei and Chery to propel Luxeed into the “Phase 2.0,” signifying a new chapter in the brand’s development.

Luxeed is committed to investing over RMB 10 billion and expanding its R&D team to 5,000 members to reinforce its technological leadership. A dedicated new energy vehicle (NEV) company has been established exclusively for Luxeed, with independent production, sales, and service operations to enhance the overall customer experience.

Luxeed initially introduced the S7 pure electric sedan on November 28, 2023, as its inaugural model. This was followed by the launch of the R7 coupe SUV on September 24, 2024, which marked the brand’s entry into Huawei’s HIMA business.

The upcoming MPV from Luxeed will be developed based on Chery’s E0X-L platform and is anticipated to be the first MPV model under Huawei’s HIMA business.

The pre-sales of the updated Luxeed S7 and R7 models herald a new era for the brand, showcasing the integration of cutting-edge Huawei technologies and reinforcing Luxeed’s position in the electric vehicle market.
