BYD Unveils China’s First NEV Museum “Di Space” in Zhengzhou
BYD, a leading new energy vehicle manufacturer, recently opened the doors to its “Di Space” New Energy Science Museum in Zhengzhou, China on October 24th. This innovative museum, designed by BYD, combines automotive culture, design, and technology under one roof, making it the first of its kind in China.
The establishment of the Di Space museum is part of BYD’s larger strategy to enhance offline brand engagement and create opportunities for interaction with local communities. The primary goal of the museum is to offer visitors a comprehensive learning experience, allowing them to delve into the world of new energy vehicles.
The Di Space is strategically located in a bustling commercial area of Zhengzhou, Henan, covering an impressive 15,000 square meters across four floors. The museum is divided into four main sections: “Brand Culture”, “Craftsmanship and Intelligent Manufacturing”, “Innovative Technology”, and “Tech Exploration”. With an extensive collection of over 300 exhibits, the museum aims to serve as a hub for individuals looking to learn more about the NEV industry.
Each floor of the museum is dedicated to a specific theme, with the first floor showcasing the evolution of the Chinese NEV industry, the second floor focusing on the vehicle manufacturing process and engineering, the third floor highlighting BYD technologies such as the Blade Battery and DM-i technology, and the fourth floor offering an interactive space for hands-on activities.
In addition to the indoor exhibition areas, the Di Space also features an outdoor plaza spanning 8,500 square meters and an indoor event space of 360 square meters. These spaces will host BYD launches, temporary exhibitions, and various offline events to further engage with the public.
Through the Di Space, BYD aims to educate and promote the NEV industry to a wider audience. As the demand for new energy vehicles continues to rise in China, brands like BYD are intensifying their offline engagement efforts to not only sell products but also educate consumers on the benefits of owning a new energy vehicle.
The opening of the Di Space follows BYD’s establishment of its first factory in Zhengzhou in 2023, where models like the BYD Seal, BYD Shark, and Fang Cheng Bao Bao 5 are currently being produced. This new museum reaffirms BYD’s commitment to Zhengzhou, solidifying the city’s position as a key location for the brand’s outreach and NEV production endeavors.
Battery manufacturing giant, CATL, has also taken a similar approach by launching the CATL New Energy Plaza in Chengdu, showcasing over 100 models powered by CATL batteries. Visitors to CATL’s event space can explore a wide range of NEV brands while learning about the latest battery technology.
In conclusion, the opening of the Di Space museum marks a significant milestone for BYD and the NEV industry in China. By providing a platform for education and engagement, BYD is paving the way for a more sustainable future in transportation.
