SAIC-GM-Wuling recently introduced a four-door variant of its popular micro-electric vehicle, the Hongguang Mini EV. This new addition aims to cater to a wider range of users with its affordable pricing and compact design. The four-door Mini EV comes in three variants, with prices starting from RMB 44,800 to RMB 50,800.
The Mini EV family has been a massive success since its launch in July 2020, with over 1.5 million units sold to date. This impressive sales figure highlights the high level of acceptance the Mini EV has received from consumers.
The four-door Mini EV boasts larger dimensions compared to the two-door version, measuring 3,256 mm in length, 1,510 mm in width, and 1,578 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,190 mm. It is powered by a 16.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 205 kilometers across all variants. Additionally, the model supports DC fast charging, allowing it to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 35 minutes.
Equipped with an electric motor delivering a peak power of 30 kW, the four-door Mini EV weighs 780 kilograms and has a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour. These specifications make it a practical and efficient choice for urban commuting.
SAIC-GM-Wuling, a joint venture between SAIC, General Motors, and Liuzhou Wuling Motors, is known for producing vehicles based on the GSEV (Global Small Electric Vehicle) architecture. In addition to the Mini EV, the company offers other electric models like the KiWi EV, Nano EV, and Air EV. They also have a lineup of fuel-powered SUVs, MPVs, and van models in their portfolio.
