The 2025 GMC Terrain is a revamped SUV that falls under the small end of the GMC SUV family. It is offered in Elevation trim for the current year, with AT4 and Denali versions set to be released next year. The Terrain is closely related to the Chevrolet Equinox and competes with popular SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.

In terms of performance, the 2025 Terrain retains its turbo-4 powertrain while receiving a fresh new look. The exterior of the SUV has been redesigned with sleeker C-shaped LED headlights, a bold grille, and pronounced air intakes. The body sides have been sculpted to reduce visual heft, and the interior features large digital displays and a modern design.

The Terrain is powered by a 175-hp turbo-4 engine with up to 203 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive models come with a CVT, while all-wheel drive models get an 8-speed automatic transmission. The SUV offers a somewhat clumsy ride and dull acceleration, but it is quiet at higher speeds. Fuel efficiency is average, with a combined mpg rating of 27 to 28.

Safety features include standard automatic emergency braking with pedestrian protection and adaptive cruise control. Optional safety upgrades include a rear camera mirror and a surround-view camera system. The Terrain has a spacious interior with ample legroom and headroom for all five passengers. Cargo space is decent, with 29.8 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 63.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

The starting price for the 2025 GMC Terrain Elevation is $31,395, which may be considered on the higher end for the segment. The base model comes with a large touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cloth seats, and heated front seats. Optional features include synthetic leather seats, a power tailgate, and all-wheel drive for around $35,000. A Terrain Denali model is expected to be released in 2025, but pricing details have not been announced yet.

The 2025 GMC Terrain is assembled in Mexico alongside the Chevrolet Equinox. Overall, the Terrain offers a refreshed design, decent performance, and a range of features, making it a competitive option in the compact SUV market.
