Avatr Technology, a prominent electric vehicle (EV) brand supported by Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, has made a significant move by opening its first showroom in Thailand. This milestone was marked by the delivery of the Avatr 11 SUV to over 100 local customers.

The showroom inauguration event took place in Bangkok, Thailand, where Avatr unveiled the right-hand drive version of the Avatr 11 SUV. This model is offered in Thailand in Standard Range and Long Range variants, starting at 2,099,000 baht ($60,940) and 2,299,000 baht, respectively.

Avatr sees Thailand as a crucial stronghold in its global expansion strategy, aiming to penetrate more Southeast Asian markets and the global right-hand drive market. The company initially emerged as Changan Nio, a joint venture between Changan and Nio, but Nio has since exited the partnership.

The Avatr 11, the flagship model of Avatr, was officially launched in China in August 2022. It is available in four variants in China, with prices starting at RMB 300,800 ($41,860). Avatr plans to accelerate its international presence by expanding to 50 countries and establishing over 100 overseas authorized stores by 2025.

In a separate development, Avatr announced its intention to go public in 2026, as revealed on the Shanghai United Assets and Equity Exchange. The company recently achieved a record-breaking sales figure of 10,056 vehicles in October, following deliveries of 4,537 vehicles in September and a year-on-year delivery increase of 132.55% in the first nine months of the year.

Overall, Avatr’s entry into Thailand and its ambitious global expansion plans signal a promising future for the EV brand. With a strong lineup of electric vehicles and strategic partnerships with industry leaders, Avatr is poised to make a significant impact in the international automotive market.
