Great Wall Motors introduced the Haval H9 in 2014, marking its entry into the large SUV segment. With an AWD system and body-on-frame chassis, the Haval H9 aimed to compete with established models like the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Mitsubishi Pajero. The latest iteration of the Haval H9 combines urban versatility with robust off-road capabilities, catering to a wide range of drivers. Production has been increased to meet the growing demand in the domestic market.

The exterior of the Haval H9 features square headlights with round LED daytime running lights at the front, giving it a distinctive look. The rear showcases vertically arranged square taillights, a side-opening tailgate, and an external spare tire box, emphasizing the SUV’s rugged appearance. With a wheelbase of 2850 mm, the H9 measures 5070 mm in length, 1960 (1976) mm in width, and 1930 mm in height. Both the overseas and domestic versions share a bold grille design with thick horizontal chrome bars and a central “HAVAL” logo.

Moving to the interior, the H9 offers a spacious and practical layout designed for comfort and convenience. Features like a four-spoke oval steering wheel, a floating 14.6-inch infotainment screen, rectangular air-conditioning vents, and a bulky gear lever enhance functionality. The SUV can accommodate up to seven passengers with an optional 2+3+2 seat layout, making it ideal for families or group outings.

Technological upgrades in the H9 make it adaptable to various driving environments. The 14.6-inch infotainment screen supports Huawei’s HiCar and OA Card, providing seamless connectivity for compatible devices. Integrated voice control allows for hands-free operation of features like climate control and seat heating, enhancing the overall driving experience.

Under the hood, the Haval H9 is powered by a 2.0T turbocharged engine that delivers 218 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT). The SUV offers a balanced blend of power and refinement, with responsive handling and quick throttle feedback for effortless city driving. The adjustable steering modes allow drivers to switch between standard and sport settings, providing a more direct and agile feel when needed.

Off-road capabilities are where the Haval H9 truly shines, thanks to features like the BorgWarner four-wheel drive system, front and rear differential locks, and all-terrain control system. With over 22 cm of ground clearance, durable tires, and a robust suspension system, the H9 tackles rough terrains with ease. The tank turn function adds a unique maneuvering edge in tight spots, making it versatile for various outdoor adventures.

In conclusion, the Haval H9 offers a compelling combination of urban comfort and off-road capability. With its tech upgrades, spacious interior, and strong performance, the H9 caters to drivers looking for a versatile SUV that can transition seamlessly from city streets to rugged landscapes.
