BYD Fang Cheng Bao starts pre-sales of Tai 3 SUV, targeting larger family car market

Fang Cheng Bao, a sub-brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), has recently launched the Tai 3 SUV, the first model in its new Tai series. This model is the brand’s most affordable offering to date, targeting the larger family car market.

The Tai 3 is currently available for pre-sales in five different variants, with prices starting at RMB 139,800 ($19,270). Official launch and deliveries are expected to begin in April. The lineup includes two rear-wheel drive versions and three all-wheel drive versions, catering to different preferences and driving needs.

Unlike Fang Cheng Bao’s previous models, the Bao 5 and Bao 8 off-road SUVs, which are designed for rugged terrains, the Tai 3 focuses on providing a comfortable and spacious driving experience for families. The Tai series is a departure from the off-road focus of the Bao series, with a unibody design that is more suitable for everyday use.

The Tai 3 features a dual-motor variant with a front motor delivering 110 kW and a rear motor producing 200 kW, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. All variants of the Tai 3 offer a range of 501 kilometers, powered by battery packs ranging from 72.96 kWh to 78.72 kWh.

Equipped with BYD’s God’s Eye C smart driving system and DiPilot 100, the Tai 3 provides advanced safety and convenience features for drivers. The model is built on the Evo+ platform and features an all-terrain system that can handle various road conditions, making it a versatile choice for families.

In January-February, Fang Cheng Bao delivered 11,161 vehicles, marking a 48.56 percent year-on-year increase. This growth reflects the brand’s commitment to expanding its presence in the market and offering innovative and affordable electric vehicles.

With the launch of the Tai 3 and the continued success of the Bao series, Fang Cheng Bao is solidifying its position as a key player in the electric vehicle market. The Tai 3 combines performance, range, and advanced technology to meet the needs of modern families, setting a new standard for affordable electric SUVs.
