BYD Unveils Super e-Platform with Revolutionary Blade Batteries

BYD, a leading Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer, has recently introduced its latest electric vehicle platform, the Super e-Platform. This cutting-edge platform features redesigned blade batteries that support ultra-fast charging, high-performance electric motors, and advanced silicon carbide power chips.

The highlight of the Super e-Platform is the flash-charge batteries, which boast a charging multiplier of up to 10 C, the highest among mass-produced power batteries globally. This means that the battery can be fully charged in just six minutes, thanks to its ability to support charging voltages of up to 1,000 V and charging currents of up to 1,000 A. This allows for charging power of up to 1,000 kW, marking a significant milestone in the industry.

The Super e-Platform also features a high-revving motor that spins at an impressive 30,511 revolutions per minute, the highest among mass-produced motors worldwide. With a peak power of 580 kW and a power density of 16.4 kW/kg, this motor surpasses the performance of a V12 fuel engine.

The first models based on BYD’s Super e-Platform, the Han L EV sedan and Tang L SUV, are now available for pre-sales. These models offer exceptional performance, with the Han L EV accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.7 seconds and the Tang L EV in 3.6 seconds. Both models are equipped with BYD’s advanced God’s Eye B smart driving system, including a roof-mounted LiDAR.

In addition to the Han L EV and Tang L EV, BYD is also accepting reservations for the hybrid Han L DM and Tang L DM models, which will feature the powerful DM-p hybrid technology. These models are set to be officially launched at an event in early April.

BYD has also unveiled a supercharger that supports 1,000 kW of power, capable of adding 2 kilometers of range to an EV in one second, or 400 kilometers in just five minutes. The company plans to build more than 4,000 supercharging stations with this high charging power, ensuring fast and convenient charging for EV owners.

Overall, BYD’s Super e-Platform represents a significant advancement in electric vehicle technology, showcasing the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. With its revolutionary blade batteries and high-performance electric motors, BYD is set to lead the way in the EV industry.
