Shanghai (Gasgoo)- A significant collaboration in the development of new energy aircraft was recently announced as Chinese eVTOL aircraft developer AEROFUGIA and the Second Research Institute of Civil Aviation Administration of China (“CAACSRI”) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Chengdu city. The strategic cooperation agreement between AEROFUGIA and CAACSRI will encompass collaboration in areas such as R&D, safety testing, scientific research, talent cultivation, and academic exchanges. The focus will be on advancing the design, operational management, and standard-setting for the next generation of new energy aircraft, with a particular emphasis on fostering the standardization and regulation of the eVTOL sector in China.

CAACSRI, a prominent civil aviation research institution under the leadership of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (“CAAC”), boasts a wealth of experience in developing cutting-edge civil aviation technologies. With expertise spanning the entire chain of academic and industrial applications, the institute is well-positioned to contribute to the advancement of new energy aircraft development.

AEROFUGIA, a subsidiary of Geely Technology Group, specializes in vertical take-off and landing aircraft powered by new energy and intelligent driving systems. As the first company in China to have its manned eVTOL project formally accepted for airworthiness certification by the CAAC, AEROFUGIA is at the forefront of innovation in the eVTOL space.
