Geely Holding Group Achieves Record Monthly Sales in September 2024
Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, a leading automotive company, recently announced a significant milestone in its sales performance. In September 2024, the group achieved a record monthly sales volume of 308,119 units, marking a remarkable 17.8% year-on-year growth.
The standout feature of this achievement was the impressive contribution of new energy vehicles (NEVs) to the overall sales figures. Out of the total vehicles sold in September, 152,515 units were NEVs, representing a substantial year-on-year increase of 59.6%. NEVs accounted for 49.5% of Geely Holding’s total auto sales for the month.
For the first nine months of 2024, Geely Holding reported a cumulative sales volume of 2,319,664 vehicles. During this period, the group also saw a significant growth in its NEV sales, with a total of 976,256 units sold. Additionally, Geely Holding achieved a year-to-date sales volume of 907,578 vehicles for its overseas markets.
Geely Holding comprises several key automotive entities, including Geely Auto Group, Volvo Cars, PROTON, Lynk & Co, Lotus Cars, Polestar, LEVC (London EV Company), smart, RADAR, and Farizon Auto.
Geely Auto Group, which includes Geely, Lynk & Co, and ZEEKR brands, reported a total sales volume of 201,949 units in September, marking a 21% year-on-year increase. The group’s NEV sales for the month reached 91,134 units, showing a significant growth of 75.8% compared to the same period last year. Moreover, Geely Auto Group’s export volume for the month surged by 51% year-on-year to 39,183 vehicles.
In terms of year-to-date performance, Geely Auto Group achieved a remarkable 32.1% year-on-year increase in sales, with a total of 1,489,690 vehicles sold.
Volvo Cars also reported a steady year-on-year increase of 1.3% in global sales for September 2024, with 62,458 vehicles sold. A notable portion of this growth came from NEV sales, which saw a 43% spike compared to the previous year, with 30,174 units sold. For the first three quarters of the year, Volvo Cars’global sales totaled 560,922 units, reflecting a 10.2% increase over the same period last year.
Additionally, PROTON recorded a sales volume of 11,269 vehicles in September, bringing its year-to-date sales volume to 112,758 units.
With these impressive sales figures and growth trends, Geely Holding Group continues to solidify its position as a key player in the global automotive industry.
