Great Wall Motor Reports Strong Month-on-Month Growth in September 2024 Vehicle Sales

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Great Wall Motor (“GWM”) achieved impressive results in September 2024, with a total of 108,398 vehicles sold. While this represented a slight year-on-year decrease of 10.88%, the company saw a significant month-on-month growth of 14.75%, according to its latest monthly sales report.

Of the vehicles sold by GWM in September, 30,129 units were from the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector. The company also reported an overseas sales volume of 44,105 units for the month.

Year-to-date sales for GWM totaled 853,813 vehicles, a slight decrease of 1.18% compared to the same period last year. However, the company’s NEV sales reached 211,492 units for the period, marking a significant increase of 24.15% year-on-year. Overseas sales also saw a substantial growth of 53.16% year-on-year, reaching 324,244 units. Sales of models priced over 200,000 yuan saw a remarkable increase of 38.72% compared to the previous year.

Breaking down the sales performance by specific brands, Haval brand led the way with 62,900 units sold in September, bringing its year-to-date total to 471,748 vehicles.

WEY brand recorded cumulative sales of 32,388 units for the Jan.-Sept. period, showing a slight decrease of 1.76% from the previous year. However, the brand experienced a significant monthly sales increase of 165.11% year over year in September.

TANK brand also performed well, with 18,740 vehicles sold last month, representing a 3.8% year-on-year increase. Year-to-date sales for TANK reached 169,810 units, a notable 62.43% increase compared to the previous year.

On the other hand, both Great Wall Pick-up and ORA brands faced year-on-year declines in their September and year-to-date vehicle sales.
