Geely’s Methanol-Hydrogen Electric Vehicle Initiative

Geely is planning to introduce a methanol-hydrogen electric vehicle model specifically designed for Shenyang by 2025. Methanol is being recognized globally as a clean and renewable energy source that can effectively store and utilize power from wind and solar energy. This technology addresses the range limitations of electric vehicles in extreme cold climates, making it an ideal solution for new energy vehicles in North China.

Creating a Green Methanol Industry Ecosystem

Eric Li, Chairman of Geely Holding, highlighted the collaboration as a strategic partnership that will revitalize Jinbei’s products and brand with Farizon Auto’s technological integration. The goal is to establish a complete green methanol industry ecosystem in Liaoning Province, contributing to the region’s industrial revitalization.

Farizon Auto’s Methanol-Hydrogen Electric Technology

Farizon Auto’s CEO, Zhou Jianqun, emphasized the environmental friendliness, economic viability, and reliability of methanol-hydrogen electric technology. This solution, validated for commercial vehicles in China’s northern regions, offers a distinctive pathway for electrification. Farizon Auto’s recent deployment of methanol-hydrogen electric buses in Daqing and Tianjin cities has demonstrated significant cost savings and environmental benefits.

Geely Holding’s Commitment to Green Methanol

Geely Holding has been a leader in the methanol ecosystem for two decades, with a focus on energy and carbon neutrality challenges. The company’s deployment of methanol-hydrogen electric vehicles has accumulated impressive operational mileage. With a growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions, Geely Holding continues to innovate in the new energy vehicle sector.

With a focus on green methanol production and deployment of methanol-electric vehicles, this partnership paves the way for a cleaner and more efficient future for commercial vehicles.
