Munro Vehicles, a Scottish startup, is making significant strides with its Series M all-electric off-road vehicles. The company, with over £17 million in preliminary orders for its 4×4 EVs, is nearing the completion of prototype validation before delivering to customers. The recent appointment of Avinash Rugoobur as the new chairperson further solidifies Munro’s position in the electric vehicle market.
The M-Series 4×4 EVs from Munro have evolved significantly since their initial prototype, with a focus on off-road capabilities. The vehicles, available as SUVs or pickups, boast full-time 4×4 electric drivetrains, catering to industries such as mining, defense, emergency response, and utilities transitioning to net zero emissions. Munro’s dedication to off-road performance sets it apart from other electric SUVs on the market, emphasizing durability, adaptability, and safety in extreme environments.
After an 18-month durability off-road test program, Munro is on track to commence production, with orders secured for 250 M-Series 4×4 EVs. The vehicles offer two variants with different output levels, catering to various customer needs. The M170 variant features an 85 kWh LFP battery pack, producing 170 kW of power and 600 Nm of torque, while the M280 variant delivers 280 kW of power and 700 Nm of torque. Both variants offer impressive towing and payload capacities, starting at an MSRP of £63,000 ($85,075).
Munro’s commitment to producing high-quality, off-road-focused electric vehicles is evident in the design and performance of the M-Series. With Avinash Rugoobur at the helm as the new chairperson, Munro is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market, offering a clean alternative for industries traditionally reliant on fuel-consuming 4×4 vehicles. Customers can expect a unique driving experience with Munro’s M-Series 4×4 EVs, designed to excel in challenging environments while reducing their carbon footprint.
