Mazda Reveals EZ-60 Electric SUV in China
The Mazda EZ-60 – which could come to the UK as an electric counterpart to the existing CX-60 – has been unveiled in China. This new electric SUV is a collaboration between Mazda and Chinese firm Changan, utilizing the same platform as the Changan Deepal S07, a Tesla Model Y rival.
While technical specifications for the EZ-60 have not been released yet, the S07 features an 80kWh battery and a 214bhp motor, offering a range of 295 miles. It also boasts fast charging capabilities, with a 30-80% recharge in just 35 minutes.
Building on the design language of the upcoming Mazda 6e, the EZ-60 features a sleek and angular exterior. Thin LED daytime running lights, a prominent chin spoiler, and a pronounced shoulder line give the SUV a modern and dynamic look. The interior, set to be unveiled at the Shanghai motor show, is expected to mirror the 6e with a large central touchscreen and comfortable bucket seats.
While Mazda has not officially confirmed the UK launch of the EZ-60, it would be a significant addition to the brand’s electric vehicle lineup. Following the success of the 6e, Mazda plans to introduce a new electric SUV developed independently and assembled in Japan, further solidifying their commitment to sustainable mobility.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Mazda EZ-60 and its potential arrival in the UK market, offering consumers a stylish and eco-friendly SUV option in the popular electric vehicle segment.
