Nio, a popular Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker, has recently achieved a significant milestone by reaching its 60 millionth battery swap service. This achievement comes just four months after the company celebrated its 50 millionth service. The milestone was reached at approximately 9:06 pm Beijing time on December 13, as reported by real-time data from Nio’s charging map.

Currently, Nio boasts a total of 2,785 battery swap stations across China, with 909 of them strategically located along highways for convenient access. The company’s founder, chairman, and CEO, William Li, shared during a year-end media meet that Nio plans to add around 200 new battery swap stations this month alone. Throughout the year, Nio has already added 424 battery swap stations in China, showcasing its commitment to expanding its service network.

In November, Nio provided over 2.3 million battery swap services, averaging around 77,000 services per day. The company’s first battery swap station was completed in Shenzhen on May 20, 2018, marking the beginning of its journey towards revolutionizing the EV charging experience. Over the years, Nio has steadily increased its battery swap services, with milestones such as reaching 10 million services in July 2022, 20 million in April 2023, 30 million in October 2023, 40 million in March 2024, and 50 million in August 2024.

Furthermore, Nio continues to expand its reach globally, with a focus on bringing its innovative service system to other countries. In Europe, Nio’s vehicles are already available in five markets, including Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark. The company recently announced the opening of its first battery swap station in Belgium, marking its 59th station in Europe. Additionally, Nio has established its presence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with plans to launch its first battery swap station by the end of 2025.

Nio’s efforts to expand overseas align with its goal of providing a seamless and efficient charging experience for EV owners worldwide. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence, Nio continues to set new benchmarks in the EV industry. As the company looks ahead to the future, it remains dedicated to innovation and sustainability in the electric vehicle market.
