Nissan Motor Reports 3.8% Year-on-Year Dip in September 2024 China Sales
Nissan Motor recently announced its sales performance for September 2024 in the Chinese market, with a total of 61,395 vehicles sold in both the passenger vehicle and light-duty commercial vehicle segments. This figure represents a slight decrease of 3.8% compared to the same period last year.
Dongfeng Nissan, which includes the Nissan, Venucia, and INFINITI brands, recorded a combined sales volume of 57,741 vehicles in September, reflecting a 5.81% decline from the previous year. On the other hand, the light-duty commercial vehicle segment, represented by Zhengzhou Nissan, experienced a significant 45% year-over-year increase with 3,654 vehicles sold in the same month.
In the first nine months of 2024, Nissan’s total sales in China, spanning both passenger vehicles and light-duty commercial vehicles, reached 496,998 units. This performance underscores the brand’s enduring presence in the competitive Chinese automotive market.
Earlier in June, Dongfeng Nissan unveiled the ambitious “Dongfeng Nissan RE-CHARGE 100 Action Plan” with a strategic focus on revitalizing the brand’s market position. As part of this initiative, Dongfeng Nissan plans to introduce seven new energy vehicle (NEV) models by the end of 2026. A dedicated brand management committee will also be established to strengthen brand strategy, while substantial investments in research and development will drive the transition towards NEVs and enhance vehicle intelligence capabilities.
