Nissan Motor Reports 3.8% Year-on-Year Dip in September 2024 China Sales

Nissan Motor recently announced its sales performance for September 2024 in the Chinese market, with a total of 61,395 vehicles sold in both the passenger vehicle and light-duty commercial vehicle segments. This figure represents a slight decrease of 3.8% compared to the same period last year.

Dongfeng Nissan, which includes the Nissan, Venucia, and INFINITI brands, recorded a combined sales volume of 57,741 vehicles in September, reflecting a 5.81% decline from the previous year. On the other hand, the light-duty commercial vehicle segment, represented by Zhengzhou Nissan, experienced a significant 45% year-over-year increase with 3,654 vehicles sold in the same month.

In the first nine months of 2024, Nissan’s total sales in China, spanning both passenger vehicles and light-duty commercial vehicles, reached 496,998 units. This performance underscores the brand’s enduring presence in the competitive Chinese automotive market.

Earlier in June, Dongfeng Nissan unveiled the ambitious “Dongfeng Nissan RE-CHARGE 100 Action Plan” with a strategic focus on revitalizing the brand’s market position. As part of this initiative, Dongfeng Nissan plans to introduce seven new energy vehicle (NEV) models by the end of 2026. A dedicated brand management committee will also be established to strengthen brand strategy, while substantial investments in research and development will drive the transition towards NEVs and enhance vehicle intelligence capabilities.

The latest sales figures and strategic initiatives from Nissan Motor signal the brand’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the dynamic Chinese automotive landscape. Stay tuned for more updates on Nissan’s progress and developments in the market.
