Xpeng’s Monthly Deliveries Surpass Li Auto in January

Xpeng, a leading electric vehicle (EV) maker, has once again demonstrated its strong performance in January, despite a slight decrease from the previous month. The company reported delivering 30,350 units in January, marking its third consecutive month with deliveries exceeding 30,000 units. While this figure represents a 17.29 percent decrease from December’s 36,695 deliveries, it also reflects a substantial 267.88 percent increase from the same period last year.

The Chinese auto market is known for its seasonal fluctuations, with the beginning of the year typically experiencing lower delivery numbers due to the Chinese New Year. This seasonal trend has been evident in the recent data released by Xpeng.

One notable achievement for Xpeng in January was surpassing its local competitor, Li Auto, in monthly deliveries for the first time since September 2022. Li Auto reported delivering 29,927 vehicles in January, marking a 48.85 percent decrease from December and a 3.97 percent decrease year-on-year. Xpeng’s success in outperforming Li Auto can be attributed to its focus on battery electric vehicles (BEVs), compared to Li Auto’s hybrid extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs).

One of Xpeng’s standout models in January was the Mona M03, which delivered more than 15,000 units during the month. Launched in August 2024, the Mona M03 offers three variants with competitive starting prices. This sedan has quickly gained popularity in the market, with deliveries exceeding 10,000 units in each of the previous months.

Another popular model from Xpeng is the P7+, a mid-to-large-size electric sedan that was launched in November 2024. The P7+ has garnered attention for its innovative features, including a Tesla-like vision-only smart driving system.

Looking ahead, Xpeng has exciting plans for its product lineup, including the introduction of the G7 SUV, which is expected to be similar in size to the facelifted Model Y. With a commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, Xpeng continues to solidify its position as a key player in the EV market.

Overall, Xpeng’s performance in January showcases its resilience and growth potential in the competitive EV industry. As the company expands its product offerings and explores new technological advancements, it is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of consumers and drive sustainable mobility solutions.
