Xpeng plans to launch mass-market Mona series in Europe in 2026

Xpeng, a leading Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker, has exciting plans to introduce its Mona series in Europe in 2026. This move will bring Xpeng’s highly price-competitive products to overseas markets, expanding the brand’s global presence.

He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of Xpeng, revealed this strategic decision in an interview with CNBC. He stated that in 2026, a variety of Mona products will be launched not only in China but also in Europe and other global markets. He emphasized that the vehicles to be introduced will be top-notch, proven, and excellent in quality.

The Mona series is a result of Xpeng’s acquisition of Didi Global’s electric vehicle business in August 2023. Initially positioned as an independent brand, Mona has transitioned to becoming a product lineup under the Xpeng brand. The first model in the Mona series, the M03 electric sedan, was officially launched in China on August 27, 2024, with a starting price of RMB 119,800 ($16,820). This competitive pricing positions the M03 as a more affordable option compared to higher-end models like the P7 and G6.

In May 2025, Xpeng introduced the Mona M03 Max variant, starting at RMB 129,800. This variant offers driver assistance capabilities comparable to Tesla’s Full Self-Driving technology as standard. The Mona M03 has been performing exceptionally well in the market, with 15,334 units delivered in August alone. Year-to-date, the M03 has delivered a total of 117,443 units, accounting for 43.24 percent of Xpeng’s total deliveries during the same period.

With the upcoming launch of the Mona series in Europe, Xpeng aims to further expand its market reach and offer consumers in different regions access to its innovative and cost-effective EVs. This strategic move aligns with Xpeng’s commitment to global expansion and reinforces its position as a key player in the EV industry.

The establishment of Xpeng’s first European R&D center in Munich further highlights the company’s dedication to the European market. This center will play a crucial role in driving innovation and product development tailored to the specific needs and preferences of European customers.

In conclusion, Xpeng’s plan to launch the Mona series in Europe in 2026 signifies a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory. By bringing its price-competitive and high-quality EVs to international markets, Xpeng is poised to solidify its position as a global leader in the EV industry.
