Automakers are increasingly incorporating DeepSeek’s artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into their vehicle cockpits, enhancing the overall user experience. Zeekr, the luxury electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, recently announced the integration of its cockpit with DeepSeek. This integration includes Zeekr’s in-house developed Kr AI large model, which has been plugged into the DeepSeek R1 model. Additionally, Zeekr’s virtual voice assistant, AI Eva, has completed integration with DeepSeek R1 and is set to launch soon.

AI Eva is designed to provide users with more accurate and thoughtful responses, thanks to its ability to analyze data deeply. The smart cockpit team at Zeekr will continue to train the Kr AI large model based on DeepSeek R1, aiming to improve the virtual assistant’s understanding and prediction of users’ intentions and needs.

On the other hand, Dongfeng Motor’s premium electric off-road brand, M-Hero, has also integrated its cockpit with DeepSeek R1. The brand plans to introduce the enhanced AI capabilities to its M-917 off-road SUV through an OTA update by the upcoming Shanghai auto show in April 2025.

DeepSeek R1, known for its strong performance comparable to OpenAI’s o1 model but with lower training costs, has been gaining recognition in the industry. Other automakers, such as Voyah, a sub-brand of Dongfeng, and Geely Auto, have also announced their integration with DeepSeek’s AI models for their upcoming vehicle models.

The incorporation of DeepSeek’s AI capabilities into vehicle cockpits is expected to revolutionize the driving experience, offering users advanced features and personalized assistance. As more car companies embrace AI technology, the future of automotive innovation looks promising. Stay tuned for more updates on the latest developments in the automotive industry.
